“Once upon a time there was the Grand Hotel Pallanza…,” if we wanted to try to write the history of the Grand Hotel Majestic in a fairy tale key we would have to start exactly like this. We, however, do not want to tell you a fairy tale, but to share with you what really happened over the years.
Initially, the hotel consisted of only four floors, plus the part below at garden level. Later, an additional floor and the gable were added, but it was not until 1919 that the stutture took the form we still know today with the construction of what was then considered the seventh and last floor.
As we know, however, the past is not only made up of pleasant events, and after World War I, the hotel changed ownership and hand in hand with the historical events came to assume the name Albergo Maestoso.
