AQUA, Art for the World

 
 
Aqua Happenings is the title of the event that will take place on the Isola dei Pescatori in the Borromean Gulf and the Grand Hotel Majestic in Verbania Pallanza, on lake Maggiore, the next 26th and 27th May. An anticipation of Aqua, a traveling exhibition, which will land on the shores of Lake Maggiore in 2019, sponsored by UN-Water, aims to spread the global issue of water management, one of the crucial challenges of the 21st century by which the future of life on earth depends on.

The NGO ART for the World goes on with its mission to raise awareness of the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals. With this new Italian initiative, Art for the World presents a selection of his best co-productions of videos on the theme of water by Clemente Bicocchi (Italy), Nigol Bexjian (Syria), Michel Favre (Switzerland), Francesco Jodice (Italy) , Augustin Rebetez (Switzerland), Eduardo Srur (Brazil), they will all be seen on the walls of the island's streets during the two days of Happenings. In addition to these, also works and outdoor performances by Marta dell'Angelo (Italy), Elena Al Asmar (Lebanon), Fabiana de Barros (Brazil), Stefano Boccalini (Italy), Steve Piccolo (USA) and Thibault de Gialluly (France) ). At the Fishing Museum and Pro Loco, the exhibitions by Riccardo Arena (Italy), Amita Makan (South Africa), Luca Pancrazzi (Italy) and Vasilis Zografos (Greece).

On 27 May, a recital by the prestigious international soprano Varduhi Khachatryan will take place in the Sala Toscanini of the Grand Hotel Majestic. She is the winner of the 2001 Maria Callas Grand Prix, she will sing a repertoire of opera arias by great classical composers inspired by the water accompanied by her pianist.

A two days of art with a social taste it’s a Adelina von Fürstenberg and the set by architect Uliva Velo, will start with the official openings on Saturday May 26th at 5pm on Isola dei Pescatori, with installations and works that will remain open to the public on Sunday 27th from 10am to 5pm. On Sunday 27th, at 11.45am the Varduhi Khachatryan recital in the Toscanini room of the Grand Hotel Majestic in Pallanza.
